Over at Cinescape they've got a few bits on what's happening with the DOOM movie.
"After Warner Bros. attempted to make a DOOM movie a reality nearly two years ago, Universal Pictures has stepped up and purchased the film rights to id Software's legendary first-person shooter video game. The same producers that tried to get the film greenlit at Warners remain on the project with Universal, namely Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and John Wells. What's changed is that the two men now have a finished script (by Dave Callaham), a new studio and a director attached (Enda McCallion in his directorial debut.) Callaham adapted his version of DOOM from the upcoming storyline of DOOM 3, the latest video game in the franchise scheduled for release next month."
